When wellness meets water, something special happens. That was the inspiration behind Ritual Floating Sauna by Glamp Good. A floating, wood-fired sauna experience designed to help guests slow down, unplug, and reconnect with nature in the heart of Alberta.
To make this vision possible, Ritual needed more than just a sauna, they needed a floating foundation that could perform in all seasons, handle Alberta’s rugged climate, and reflect the same commitment to quality and simplicity that their brand stands for.
That’s where NyDock came in. With our proven freeze-in-place pontoon technology and modular, maintenance-free dock systems, we were ready to help bring this ambitious floating sauna to life on Twin Lake.

Project Goal
Ritual Floating Sauna approached NyDock with a unique vision: to create a secure, durable, and visually appealing floating platform for their sauna experience on the serene waters of Twin Lake, Alberta. The structure needed to withstand year-round conditions, remain stable during use, and support a custom-built wood-fired sauna unit. All while blending seamlessly into the natural surroundings and supporting their mission of wellness, nature, and reconnection.
Our Process
Discovery & Consultation: Our team worked closely with Ritual Floating Sauna to understand their vision, aesthetic preferences, and functional requirements. Key considerations included load capacity, safety, ease of maintenance, and long-term durability in fluctuating water levels.
Engineered for Year-Round Use: We designed a custom floating dock using NyDock’s high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pontoons. Known for their superior strength and durability, these pontoons come with a lifetime warranty and are built to freeze into ice without damage, making them the perfect choice for harsh Alberta winters.
Key features of the build included:
- A stable, modular floating platform built specifically to support a full-size wood-fired sauna
- Freeze-in-place HDPE pontoon technology to handle freeze/thaw cycles without requiring removal
- Low-maintenance construction designed for long-term performance
Fabrication & Delivery: All components were precision-manufactured at our Ontario facility and shipped to Alberta. With NyDock’s modular system, setup was straightforward — the platform was easily assembled and installed on-site, ready for Ritual’s custom sauna structure.
Success Story
The finished floating sauna quickly became a destination experience for visitors and locals alike. With NyDock’s stable, durable platform as its base, Ritual Floating Sauna delivers a unique blend of wellness, design, and nature — offering guests a relaxing, wood-fired sauna in the middle of a tranquil lake.
The floating sauna platform has remained reliable and low-maintenance throughout the seasons, standing up to Alberta’s harsh winters and busy usage with no compromise in performance or safety.
